rainguide is a continuation of the rainsongs project in which I created a publication as an alternative form of consumption to the website. here is the artist statement that I wrote to accompany the publication:

"rainsongs is an audiovisual guide through the progression of a rain storm. oftentimes when I'm listening to music, it feels like an inner world is wrapping itself around me and placing me in a new environment. I realized recently that a lot of the songs I enjoy have a sort of rainy quality to them or lead me to visualize a place that includes rain in some shape or form, so this piece was inspired by that. rainguide, the work you see here, is an accompanying publication that can be flipped through while listening to rainsongs. in this book, you can find additional context that exists throughout the pages in the form of small freewrites that illustrate what concepts the sounds and images bring to my mind."

in addition to the publication, I created an additional reformatting of the rainsongs project into a singular long-form video so that it would be easier to listen to while flipping through the publication. while the QR code present in the publication gif is currently inactive, you can watch the video/listen to the project here:
